What makes good relaxation music?
Music preference is subjective, and whatever you enjoy listening to is a good thing to listen to of course. When it comes to reaching a deep state of relaxation some of us may find certain music helps us to do that.
Music forms powerful links with memory, I’m sure you can remember the music you listened to as a teenager and how it made you feel, or perhaps an emotive song played at a funeral or at your wedding has you in tears every time you hear it? This same power is what makes music so great for relaxation. It forms an anchor that reminds your body and mind that relaxation is about to happen, so much so that eventually just a few chords will have you falling asleep wherever you are. The bonus of listening to the same music repeatedly in pregnancy is that your baby hears it too, relaxes when you relax, and therefore relaxes during labour and outside of the womb when they hear the same music again.

Knowing the importance of the music meant that choosing my MP3 backing tracks was a decision that needed careful consideration. That’s why I was so excited when I came across Belightful®, as their music is even more special than just being ‘relaxing’ and here is why.
Catherine from Belightful® Music says…
“I think an important message to get across is how valuable learning to relax is and how this affects the baby. If there is something audible happening, baby becomes aware of this in the womb and the same music will trigger these blissful, relaxing feelings and state of mind. Belightful® Music is even more useful because of all the added benefits from the healing frequencies.
The album of original piano music “Pure Piano” is no ordinary relaxation CD. In fact it may even energise! It will certainly bring the mind and body into alignment, allowing self-healing to take place. This will happen even just by playing the music in the background as you go about your daily routine.
“Pure Piano” has been tuned to A=432Hz despite the worldwide standard tuning of A=440Hz. The unnatural 8Hz dissonance may generate unhealthy effects and anti-social behaviour in our consciousness. The frequencies on this album will help soothe troubled thought patterns, regulate the breath cycle and boost physical well-being. They are in tune with the workings of the inner ear, preventing feelings of being “spaced out” and “fog-like” conditions caused by an artificial sound environment.”
